Our Mission‍

Since day one, our professional philosophy has been shaped by two foundational beliefs: one, that everyone deserves to be treated with dignity and respect; and two, that the client always comes first. This is a partnership, and we are here to be your advocate. Our mission today is the same as when we started 20 years ago—empowering people to take control of their financial future through education, transparency, and respect.

Pam’s Story

What ultimately drives me—the reason I started working in this profession in the first place—is directly informed by my own personal experience. I lost my father when I was just 19; he was killed in a plane crash in 1982. My family was awarded a legal settlement from a major airline, and at the suggestion of a relative, I decided to entrust the bulk of my inheritance to a corporate financial adviser.

This advisor mismanaged my portfolio, failed to act in my best interest, and intentionally kept me in the dark about my own investments. Thankfully, in 1987 a family friend intervened, and I’ll never forget how it felt when he asked “Do you have any idea what this consultant is doing to you?” I felt powerless, so I started to educate myself. The more I learned, the more I understood how he had taken advantage of my naiveté and my grief. I can relate to the shock of sudden loss, because I’ve walked in those shoes.

I believe that this profession should be about building long-term relationships with people. I believe in earning your trust by maintaining an open and honest channel of communication, and by teaching you about investing.

Pamela Malara has worked in the financial services industry since 1995, providing financial planning, retirement, insurance, and investment management services to clients in 14 states. In her spare time, Pam can be found running, painting, or curled up with a good book. As a long time St. Francisville resident and a breast cancer survivor, Pam is passionate about supporting local causes close to her heart, especially the West Feliciana Animal Humane Society and the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure.

Joseph Malara has worked as a financial analyst since 2005, when he made the switch after a lengthy career in engineering design. As a graduate of the Wharton Executive Program, Joe thrives when presented with complex mathematical tasks; for him, success means leveraging his analytical skills to help clients meet their financial goals. Aside from running the numbers, Joe enjoys running, skiing, and pursuing various home improvement projects.

In their free time you can find both Pam and Joe training for their next race and crossing off the next destination on their travel bucket list.
